This course provides students with the expertise necessary to install, configure, and customize both Siebel Search and Siebel Find. It starts with an introduction to the basic features of Siebel Search and Siebel Find from an end user's perprective, then goes on to describe the Siebel Search architecture. Once students are familiar with the basics of Siebel Search functionality and architecture, they learn how to configure the Siebel Enterprise to support Siebel Search, and how to install and configure Oracle Secture Enterprise Search (OSES) to support Siebel Search. Once they have seen installation and configuration, they learn in detail how indexing and searches are performed.

In the second part of the course, students learn to customize Siebel Search. First, they learn to enable and configure incremental indexing so that users search on fresh data. Next, they learn how to add fields or business components to Siebel Search, and how access control is managed in Siebel Search. Finally, they learn how to customize and configure Siebel Find using Siebel Tools.
