This module provides an overview of Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE), architecture for enterprise class applications. It also deals with the components on four tiers: client, Web, business, and the Enterprise Information System (EIS) which is supported by J2EE. Participants learn about Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE (OC4J), which is a complete J2EE Server and the management and configuration techniques that are involved. They also learn to manage and configure an OC4J instance using AS Control.
