The SQL Tuning Workshop SSCD teaches different ways in which data can be accessed, which ones are most efficient under specific circumstances, and how to ensure that the best method is used. Partitioning topics are covered, in addition to taking advantage of hints, bind variables, and different types of indexes.
The Terformance Tuning SSCD teaches the tuning tasks expected of a DBA: reactive tuning of SQL statements, maintaining SQL statement performance, and tuning the Oracle Database Instance components. Throughout the course, students practice the art of tuning an Oracle Instance.
Real Application Clusters (RAC) SSCD teaches the installation and administration of Oracle Clusterware, Real Application Clusters, and Automatic Storage Management. Students also learn how to administer their Database in a Real Application Clusters environment using Enterprise Manager Grid Control. Also, learn how to add and remove nodes in clusters and how to patch both Oracle Clusterware and Real Application Clusters software in a rolling fashion.
The New Features SSCD is designed to teach you about installation and upgrade enhancements, storage enhancements, SQL plan management and change, database replay, automatic SQL tuning, Flashback, and LogMiner. It covers enhancements in partitioning, RMAN, diagnosabilty, security, and intelligent infrastructure, and how to use the Data Recovery Advisor, Oracle SecureFiles, and other new features.
SQL and PL/SQL New Features SSCD is designed to teach you about the various enhancements in language functionality and triggers and demonstrates language usability enhancements and performance improvement features, such as inlining and flashback. It also demonstrates how to maintain greater control over triggers as well as enhancements to dynamic SQL.
Oracle Secure Backup SSCD teaches how to use Oracle Secure Backup, which supplies reliable tape backup of the database through direct integration with RMAN and it also provides general file system backup to tape. Students also learn how to perform advanced management tasks, such as, tape vaulting.
