This is an online course. Please do not make travel arrangements for this course. After you receive confirmation that you are enrolled, you will be sent further instructions to access audio, video and remote labs. This is the Instructor Led Online version of Classroom course DB2 9 for z/OS Database Administration Workshop Part 2 (CV841) This course provides lectures and hands on lab exercises for database administrators in a DB2 for z/OS environment. You are expected to learn DBA related topics which we would not necessarily consider advanced, but not necessarily needed in order to be able to start working as database administrator and perform basic administrative tasks. This course is supposed to be an enhanced subset of the former course DB2 9 for z/OS Database Administration Workshop Part 2 (CV840) which covered all the units that are also covered in this course plus the utilities oriented topics which we have decided to take out of this course and offer a separate course covering more really advanced database administrator utility topics. Since the course length is now only 3 days as opposed to 5 days as it was before, we are also in a good position to add in new stuff if required for future versions and extend to 4 days if needed. In a second step - probably with the update to V10, we also consider moving a few parts out of DB2 9 for z/OS Database Administration Workshop Part 1 (CV83). These topics include for example MQTs and Sequences. The skills taught in this course include more in-depth program preparation knowledge, the use of Online Schema changes, Partition Management, UDTs, UDFs and Stored Procedures, Triggers, and LOBs. |
