This two-day instructor-led course provides the skills needed to use the advanced operations of Hitachi Tuning Manager software. This course provides details and step by step instruction required to implement the Hitachi Data Systems Performance Management methodology. Besides addressing the creation of customized reporting and the implementation of alarms based on the analysis methodology, there is a special focus directed at the Main Console and Performance Reporter Command Line Interface (CLI). In addition there will be hands-on lab activities implementing the performance management methodology and creating custom reports for monitoring performance.

Upon completion of the course, the learner should be able to:

Describe the Hitachi Tuning Manager software architecture.
Describe the purposes of the Service ID and Service Key.
Describe and use the Main Console CLI.
Export and import Performance Reporter reports.
Describe the requirements and framework for using CLI for Performance Reporters.
Explain the CLI format.
Review and execute the common CLI commands and arguments.

Execute commands from Collection Manager and the Agent.
Explain and implement the Hitachi Data Systems Performance Management methodology.
Interpret and apply customized reports that reflect the analysis methodology.
Set alarms based on the analysis methodology.
Use Tuning Manager software features to set a baseline.
Review current performance against the baseline.
Discuss and implement custom reports for monitoring performance of external storage and dynamic provisioning volumes.
