This four day instructor-led training course provides learners with an indepth technical knowledge of Hitachi HiCommandÂ® Protection Manager software (version 5.7) while providing an overview of its features, benefits and components. The course covers the hardware and software specifications and how MicrosoftÂ® Exchange backups can be performed using the Volume Copy Shadow Service for the MicrosoftÂ® Windows 2003 framework.

The course also provides the procedures to install and configure Protection Manager software in a Microsoft Windows 2003 environment. It familiarizes the learners with the new setup GUI feature. It provides detailed information on how to perform file and tape backup, restore, and recovery operations using Protection Manager software on a MicrosoftÂ® WindowsÂ® 2003 file system, MicrosoftÂ® ExchangeÂ® 2003/2007 server, and SQL 2000/2005 server.

The labs provide students with opportunities to install, configure and execute Protection Manager software on both Microsoft Exchange and SQL Server.

Describe the concepts of Hitachi NAS Platform and differentiate them from other Hitachi NAS products and implementations
Identify the physical and logical architecture of the Hitachi NAS Platform
Connect the Hitachi NAS Platform to the private and public Ethernet infrastructure using pre-labelled wiring

Physically attach the Hitachi NAS Platform to a Hitachi Data Systems storage system using different FC attachment scenarios
Configure the Hitachi NAS Platform and Hitachi Data Systems storage hardware and software
Identify the functionalities of the Hitachi NAS Platform file system, perform preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting
