This four day instructor-led course provides detailed procedures for installation and maintenance of the Hitachi NAS Platform, powered by BlueArcÂ®. It will focus on the aspects of the Hitachi NAS Platform models 3080 and 3090, which comprises mostly on the implementation operation and service needs. There are extensive hands-on lab sessions to acquaint the learner with both the equipment and function of the Hitachi NAS Platform. Learners will gain experience doing the physical wiring to the private and public Ethernet infrastructure, connect the back end Fibre Channel (FC) cables correctly starting with a Direct Attached Storage (DAS) scenario, over FC SAN attached storage and ending with a switch-less clustering configuration. This is followed up by an initial installation of the system. Common maintenance tasks like physical replacement of a Field Replaceable Units, and executing firmware upgrade on all Hitachi NAS Platform modules will be covered in the hands-on lab sessions.

Describe the concepts of Hitachi NAS Platform and differentiate them from other Hitachi NAS products and implementations
Identify the physical and logical architecture of the Hitachi NAS Platform
Connect the Hitachi NAS Platform to the private and public Ethernet infrastructure using pre-labelled wiring

Physically attach the Hitachi NAS Platform to a Hitachi Data Systems storage system using different FC attachment scenarios
Configure the Hitachi NAS Platform and Hitachi Data Systems storage hardware and software
Identify the functionalities of the Hitachi NAS Platform file system, perform preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting
