This three day instructor-led course provides a detailed overview of the Hitachi Data Systems storage fundamentals with an overview on the Hitachi Data Systems Enterprise family of hardware products and the Hitachi Basic Operating System (BOS).

	In addition, this course provides details on the Hitachi Universal Storage Platformâ„¢ V and Hitachi Universal Storage Platformâ„¢ VM system architecture and key software products available on the enterprise systems.
	The classroom sessions are supported by lab exercises where learners are given hands-on experience with the hardware and learn how to use key components of the BOS.

Upon completion of the course, the learner should be able to:

Identify customer problems and requirements that may be addressed by solutions based on Hitachi Data Systemsâ€™ Enterprise storage systems and software
Describe the architecture and explain the principles of operation of the Hitachi Universal Storage Platformâ„¢, Hitachi Universal Storage Platformâ„¢ V, Hitachi Universal Storage Platformâ„¢ VM-, and Hitachi Network Storage Controller storage system
Identify the Hitachi Data System Enterprise models and components
Explain the Enterprise systems use of FED/BED, cache and shared memory, parity groups, emulation, LDEV and LUN mapping
List and describe the Hitachi Data Systems basic operating system software and key software product offerings

Define I/O paths from host server to enterprise systems using Storage Navigator including LUN mapping and security
Perform Hitachi Cache Residency Manager software operations
Implement volume management functions such as virtual LUN and Logical Unit Size Expansion (LUSE)
Use Hitachi Performance Monitor feature to analyze subsystem performance
